Are we able to watch our child while they dance?
In Tutu Toddlers, parents are invited into class to watch and dance with their baby ballerinas.
For 3 year old classes and up, we offer viewing days at the end of term and a concert, but through the term parents wait outside.
Our experience is that young children positively flourish when they are allowed the time to process in class alone. They concentrate entirely on the ballet experience and they are like little sponges soaking up the knowledge. By allowing your child a little bit of carefully supervised time in class without mum or dad they learn so much and they gain the ability to happily separate from their parents. Children develop such a sense of accomplishment by attending a class on their own, and also a sense of pride showing their new skills to their parents at Viewing Week.
If you’re concerned that your child may experience separation anxiety, please let us know and we can ensure a smooth transition for you both. Our teachers are trained to sensitively handle the separation anxiety of children and parents.
